Compare two currencies against the rupee
Pick two currencies. Each line shows how many rupees one unit bought, rebased to 100 a year ago, so a rising line is a currency that strengthened against the rupee. These are reference rates, not what a bank or an app charges.

One year, both rates rebased to 100
Rebased lines compare movement, not size: ₹95 for a dollar and ₹0.60 for a yen both start at 100.
Banks, forex cards and remittance apps quote a margin over this reference rate and add fees: you receive a little less than this when sending money to India, and pay a little more when buying foreign currency.
